March 3- 31   Engaging Moments with Ordinary Sights
A collection of work by Julie Barrows. A student at Fitchburg State University, Julie mimics the vibrant colors and unique textures found in nature using a wide variety of media. Most recently, she began experimenting with photography as a medium rather than a tool. Notable landscapes include Mt. Rainier, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Cape Cod, Prince Edward Island, and views from her home town of Westminster, Massachusetts. Julie is very excited to hold her first solo exhibit in Townsend. To learn more about Julie or her art, visit JulieBarrows.BlogSpot.com."
Exhibit is in the Corridor Gallery.

March 3 - 31   Chisel & Brush
This exhibit combines the talents of abstract artist Tamara Gonda, and woodworker Nancy French.
Tamara Gondas' abstract paintings are simply a visual language about color, form, line, and texture, lyrically inspired by nature.  Her colors are from the Southwest, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Carribbean, and lakes and rivers of the Northwest.  Recently she has started experimenting with watercolors.  This is the first time she has explored any form of realism in her painting.  She is drawn to watercolor by the fluidity and abstractness the medium offers.
Nancy French builds furniture and accessories using local hardwoods and fallen branches, among other things.  Trained in period furniture making at North Bennet Street School in Boston's North End, this exhibit showcases her more recent works.  Using branches felled by the ice storms of recent years, some of these pieces stray a bit from the traditional furniture of her past.
This exhibit is in the Main Gallery.
