A seed lending library is a seed bank collection that is made available to the public. A seed library is simple, such as a chest of drawers that house seeds. A place is provided for people to record what varieties of seed they've "checked out". Along with the seeds, planting tips and seed saving information is provided.
The idea is that you can "borrow" seeds for the season and let some of the crop mature to produce new seed. Then bring back some of that seed to the lending library for others to borrow! Check out this great website. It explains why seeds matter. http://www.seedmatters.org/
