FRIENDS OF THE TOWNSEND PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Friends of the Townsend Public Library was
established
"to promote knowledge, stimulate interest and encourage participation
in
the functions, services and needs of the library."
Through volunteer help and fundraising efforts, we have been
able to
support the improvement and expansion of library resources and services
since 1967.
The Friends of the Library meets each month (usually the first
Monday
of the month) in the Library from
7:30pm-9:00pm. All members are
welcome and encouraged to attend. We would
love
to see you!

Would you like to volunteer your time? Some ways you can help
are:
- Holding a Children's Story Hour
- Assisting at Programs
- Helping with the Book Sale
- Helping with Fundraising
- Attending monthly meetings
If you are interested in volunteering, please stop by the library, fill
out the Membership Drive form sent to your home, call the library at
978-597-1714
or email us at library@townsendlibrary.org.
We are also interested in ways the library can better serve you. If you

The Friends of the Townsend Public Library would
like to
thank everyone wo donated plants to our very successful, Second Annual
Friends of the Townsend Public Library Plant Sale. We would
especially
like to thank Mahoney's Garden Center for their generous donations.
Also we would like to thank the volunteers, including the
National
Honor Society students, who worked on the day of the sale setting up,
selling plants and cleaning up. We couldn't have done it without
you!
Thank you all and we look forward to having another
wonderful sale next year.

Summer Hours
Between the July 4th weekend and Labor Day, the
library is closed on Saturdays.
Hours are also listed on back of library cards and
holders. (Please note:we are now open at 10am on Wednesday).
Our answering
machine message lists regular hours as well as holiday hours when
appropriate.
